Composition

Pure yerba mate leaves (Ilex paraguariensis) sustainably sourced from native forests in the Brazilian states of Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul. The leaves are carefully selected and milled to the strict P.U.1 standard — finely ground with a high leaf-to-stem ratio — meeting Esmeralda’s rigorous quality and environmental protection requirements.

Curing Process

After drying and pre-grinding, the yerba is naturally aged (repousada) for 8 to 12 months in temperature- and humidity-controlled environments. This essential resting period develops the mate’s signature golden-yellow color and deepens its complex, intense flavor profile, ensuring consistent premium quality across every batch.
